I have never been good at blogging and have given up on it for sometime, but recently, just went for a scrapbooking class and fell in love with it. So, I decided to create a blog to keep my art work for now.
Below are a few birthday cards which I made for my close friends, which I took from their facebook, lol. Never thought I would blog about my art work, hence never kept a copy of it. Only have bits of pieces of it with not very good quality, but this will do as a start :).
Front: You are my sunshine, my only sunshine!
Theme: Sunflower becoz it looks like the "sunshine" which is her nickname.
What materials:
- A blue manila cardboard
- A green colour A4 paper
- Sunflower with lady bird in the middle embellishments
- Sunflower from a wrapping paper
- Alphabet stencil
How to make it:
Step 1: Cut out a sunflower from the wrapping paper and stick the sunflower embellishments around it.
Step 2: Draw the sunflower leaves are colour it.
Step 3: Make grass by randomly drawing the grass on the A4 paper. Fold it few times and cut it together, for making the grass 4 layers, paste the first layer about 1.5cm away from the bottom of the card (top layer will be at the end of the card). Then each layer 0.5cm away from the other.
** Do not glue the grass till the tip of the grass except for first layer.
Step 4: To give it a more reality/ 3D look, use a scissors to roll the tip of the grass outwards.
Step 5: Use the stencil to write the wordings on the card.
Front: Colourful, colourful, colourful........................
Base: White
Theme: Colourful
What materials:
- White art paper
- Wrapping paper with lots of presents
- Sticker lettering
- Heart sequins
- Fake eyes
How to make it:
Step 1: Cut out of the presents, place it where desired. I cut out extra to make layering, not able to see it clearly from the photo. Use pens to draw the ribbons.
Step 2: Stick the lettering then the heart sequins on the lettering.
Middle: Cute yummy card
Base: Purple (coz I remember her loving purple)
Theme: Decided to go with cute. Found some cute japanese food (ie. bread, tofu, rice in bowl and yakitori)
stickers with cute face.
What materials:
- 2 Purple card making papers
- Stickers
- A bit of cotton
How to make it:
Step 1: Make the pop-up on both ends in the middle, you can get more detail instructions in the below link. (Use relatively solid paper so that the pop-up will stay.)
Step 2: Make the rainbow like Arc.
Step 3: Stick the stickers. Wanted to make it feel like they were really on the rainbow, added some cottons to make the cloud effect.
